What We Review

We review plastic part designs before tooling to identify risks that may affect moldability, appearance, dimensions, assembly, and production stability.

Part geometry, wall thickness, ribs, bosses, sink, and warpage risks

Draft angles, undercuts, demolding, and mold-release conditions

Parting lines, gates, runners, venting, and ejection proposals

Cosmetic surfaces, weld lines, flow marks, and visible molding risks

Critical dimensions, tolerances, datums, measurement, and assembly clearance

Material, product application, mating parts, and geometry compatibility

Mold-Flow Analysis

When required by the customer or the project, mold-flow analysis can be included to evaluate filling behavior, pressure, weld lines, air traps, cooling, and warpage risks. The analysis scope and required output are confirmed before work begins.

Review & Approval Workflow

Receive the latest product data and confirmed project requirements.
Review molding feasibility, product structure, assembly, appearance, and critical dimensions.
Share identified risks, assumptions, annotated findings, and recommendations.
Discuss the proposed changes and agree on the required design work.
Complete the agreed design revisions, review, or mold-flow analysis.
Obtain written customer approval before the approved modification or tooling work begins.

Deliverables are provided according to customer requirements and the confirmed project scope.

Files & Information Required

Please provide the latest 3D and 2D data, specified material, product application, assembly relationships, critical dimensions, cosmetic requirements, estimated volume, and any known acceptance criteria.

Common file formats: STEP/STP, IGES/IGS, X_T/Parasolid, SLDPRT, DWG/DXF, and PDF. Compatibility with other formats is confirmed after file review.

Service Scope & Customer Approval

DFM review is available as a standalone engineering service or as part of an injection mold project manufactured by SHIYUNJIA. Review depth, deliverables, design responsibility, and revision rounds are agreed according to the project scope.

DFM recommendations do not automatically authorize product changes. Product-data revisions, DFM decisions, and the tooling plan must be confirmed in writing by the customer before the agreed modification or tooling work begins.
